Brazil sets agchem approval change rules
The Brazilian national health surveillance agency, the Anvisa, has set rules for altering pesticide registrations. It issued a regulation in the official gazette last month, warning that technical amendments must be notified. The regulation applies to toxicological evaluation processes for the purpose of changing packaging such as the inclusion or exclusion of the formulator. The agency will be able to determine the interim suspension of notification in cases of irregularities in the submitted documentation, or whenever public health issues demand it. If concerns are not remedied within the time limit set by the Anvisa, the notification may be cancelled.
