Syngenta acquires Italian seed co SPB
Syngenta has acquired Italian durum wheat seed company Società Produttori Sementi (SPB - Bologna). The company supplies its durum wheat varieties for over 330,000 ha. SPB has a 430 ha farm, and breeding programmes for several crops including wheat and alfalfa. Syngenta is to maintain the company’s brand.
