Bayer/Targenomix ink agchem/trait development deal

Bayer CropScience and German company Targenomix (Potsdam), a spin-off of the Max Planck Institute of Molecular Plant Physiology, are to collaborate on the development of “small” crop protection molecules and trait technologies. The companies have agreed a five-year partnership to study systems biology approaches for the exploration of metabolic and regulatory networks in plants. The programme will initially employ 12 scientists, with an expansion planned during the collaboration.
