Adama seeks to import insecticide mix to New Zealand
ChemChina subsidiary Adama Agricultural Solutions' (formerly Makhteshim-Agan Industries) New Zealand operation, Agronica (Nelson), has applied to the country's Environmental Protection Authority to import the insecticide, Grizly Max (imidacloprid 175 g/litre + novaluron 30 g/litre + bifenthrin 20 g/litre). The suspension concentrate formulation would be for the control of thrips on onions, and psyllids and aphids on potatoes. The combined formulation would result in a reduced number of sprays per season and a lower potential risk to pollinators, the applicant says. It would not be sprayed on flowering plants and would carry label instructions to mitigate risks to bees. The application is open to public comment until June 5th.
