Novozymes to set up US biopesticide research centre
Danish company Novozymes is to establish a US research and development centre for its bioagriculture business near Research Triangle Park, North Carolina. The company will invest $36 million over the next three years and create 100 research and development jobs. The centre will focus on soil-borne micro-organisms aimed at pest control and improved crop yield and fertility. Earlier this year, Novozymes and Monsanto completed the formation of their BioAg Alliance, which aims to develop and commercialise biopesticides and other microbial products worldwide (Agrow No 682, p 7).
