Dow/KeyGene to boost tomato yields

Dow AgroSciences has reached a trait development agreement with Dutch biotechnology company KeyGene (Wageningen) to produce higher yielding tomatoes. Dow will provide KeyGene with access to its Exzact gene targeting technology for the project. Dow will have exclusive rights to commercialise resulting traits, while KeyGene will receive royalties on sales. The deal lays the foundation for a long-term relationship to use the Exzact technology in other crops of mutual interest, the companies point out.
