California approves MBI's Regalia
The US biopesticide company, Marrone Bio Innovations (MBI - Davis, California), has received registration for its disease resistance activator, Regalia ( Reynoutria sachalinensis extract), in the US state of California. The product was launched elsewhere in the US last year ( Agrow No 553, p 23). It provides early-season control of grapevine powdery mildew ( Uncinula necator) and late-season control of bunch rot ( Botrytis cinerea), MBI notes. It is also effective against copper-resistant strains of walnut blight ( Xanthomonas campestris), the company adds.
