MAI deal on two crop protection products
Makhteshim-Agan Industries (MAI) has agreed a technology transfer deal with the Israel Hebrew University of Jerusalem covering two “environmentally-friendly” crop protection solutions. Agriculture faculty researchers have developed technology for the “slow and controlled” release of herbicides. The technology incorporates herbicides into micelles or vesicles, which are then absorbed onto negatively-charged clay minerals, reducing leaching. The formulation allows improved efficacy and lower application rates.
