More funds for Divergence nematode controls
The US genomics company, Divergence (St Louis, Missouri), has received more funding for the development of nematode control technology. The USDA has awarded the company $350,000 for the development of genetically modified crops with resistance to root knot nematodes. The National Science Foundation has allocated a $150,000 grant for the development of a nematicide for crops, turf and ornamentals using Divergence’s proprietary “Harvest” research platform. The company has received more funding from the National Corn Growers Association under the eighth year of their collaboration ( Agrow No 419, p 23).
