Spain to ease EU agchem regulatory impact

Spain is working on three royal decrees to transpose the new EU rules laid out in the recently approved agrochemical registration Regulation (1107/2009), and the sustainable use of pesticides Directive (2009/128 – Agrow No 581, p 8). The Ministry of Agriculture and the Environment, the MARM, is also setting out an action plan to mitigate the loss of pesticide products under new EU rules, it says. The plan will include in its initial phase a minor crop and pest list of those with “insufficiently available protection tools” in order to prioritise what actions to take.
