US mulls approval for Cheminova's flutriafol
The US EPA has proposed the approval of Cheminova’s fungicide, Topguard (flutriafol 125 g/litre), for use on apples and soybeans. It would be recommended for use at 8-13 fl oz/acre (0.6-0.9 litre/ha) for the control of scab ( Venturia inaequalis), powdery mildew ( Podosphaera leucotricha) and rusts on apples. It would be used at 7-14 fl oz/acre on soybeans for the control of Asian soybean rust ( Phakopsora pachyrhizi) and other foliar diseases. The five-year approval would be conditional on the submission of additional data. The proposal is open to public comment until April 19th.
