France to ban daytime pesticide spraying

France is to soon ban the spraying of pesticides during the day in order to protect bees, reports French newswire Agrisalon. Quoting the Minister of Agriculture, the newswire reports that the decision is being taken on the basis of a report from the French food safety agency, the Anses, which concluded that light attracts the bees to come out and forage. An inter-ministerial decree banning spraying during the day is in preparation and should be published in the official journal within three to four months, the Minister reportedly said.
