MBI debuts Venerate in US
The US biopesticide company, Marrone Bio Innovations (MBI - Davis, California), has introduced its bioinsecticide/acaricide/nematicide, Venerate (Burkholderia spp strain A396 94.5%), in the US. The company received approval for the product for use on a range of arable crops, fruit, vegetables, turf and ornamentals in March (Agrow No 684, p 25). It will be sold as Venerate in California, where approval is still pending, and as Venerate XC in all other states. The product is MBI's second bioinsecticide, following the introduction of Grandevo (Chromobacterium subtsugae strain PRAA4-1T) in 2011 (Agrow No 626, p 25).
