Portuguese empty container recycling up 16%
Portugal’s collection and recycling of empty pesticide containers rose 16% to a record 260 tonnes in 2013, according to the country’s pesticide container management system, the Valorfito. The annual increase is the third in a row, and meets the agreed objectives of participants and authorities, the Valorfito says. The system anticipates being granted a licence to add seed and biocide packs to its “residues portfolio”. It is owned and run by the crop protection association, the Anipla, and the distributors’ network, the Groquifar.
