US exemption for Dow's Transform on sorghum

The US EPA has granted an emergency exemption for the use of Dow AgroSciences' insecticide, Transform (sulfoxaflor - trade-marked as Isoclast), for the control of sugar cane aphids (Melanaphis sacchari) on sorghum in Texas. The company received US approval for the sulfoxaflor-based insecticides, Transform and Closer, for use on a wide range of crops last year (Agrow No 664, p 24). "Transform has proven to be a highly effective solution for controlling aphids and other damaging pests in many crops," says product manager Nate Feauto. The emergency exemption expires on October 31st.
