US study finds link between neonicotinoids and CCD

A new study by US researchers suggests a link between the neonicotinoid insecticides, clothianidin and imidacloprid, and colony collapse disorder (CCD). The research finds that neonicotinoid insecticides are "highly likely to be responsible for triggering CCD" in healthy honey bee hives, said lead author Chensheng Lu, associate professor of environmental exposure biology at the Harvard School of Public Health.
