Argentina sets up bioproducts body
Argentina’s government and various elements of its private sector have formed the assessment committee for bioinputs for agricultural use, the Cabua. The public-private partnership will also function as a subcommittee within the agricultural biotechnology assessor commission, the Conabia. It seeks to generate efficient and safe bioinput products, the Ministry of Agriculture says. Among its key functions are the management, regulation and promotion of products, such as biopesticides, biofertilisers and micro-organisms. The body has been set up through Ministry resolution 7/2013.
