Spanish sectors seek more EU minor-use agchem support
Spanish fruit and vegetable growers and the pesticide industry have called for more ambitious action to register pesticides on minor crops than has been approved by the EU. In February, the European Commission issued a report to advance funds to create a technical secretariat that would co-ordinate data sharing and work by member states (Agrow No 683, p 11). Three Spanish associations believe the proposal to be insufficient. They are: the Spanish crop protection association, the Aepla; the national vegetable breeders association, the Anove; and the growers’ association, the Aprose.
