African OAPI accedes to UPOV
The African Intellectual Property Organization (OAPI) has become the second intergovernmental organisation and the 72nd member to join the International Union for the Protection of New Varieties of Plants (UPOV). OAPI director general Paul Edou Edou signed the OAPI’s accession this month. The UPOV seeks to provide and promote an effective system of plant variety protection. The OAPI covers 17 central and west African member states.
