Colombian crop area to double in ten years
The Colombian agricultural area is set to double in the next decade, the Ministry of Agriculture predicts. The Ministry has set out a programme of agrarian reform that seeks to raise the national crop area to 10 million ha. It claims that its programme will produce a “modern” Ministry that will aid the countryside to develop technologically and economically. The Ministry has recently set out various measures to reduce the cost of technology including pesticides for use on crops (see this issue).
