Bayer opens seed treatment centre in Vietnam
Bayer CropScience has opened a seed treatment facility in Vietnam largely focused on rice technology. It is the first Bayer SeedGrowth Center dedicated to rice seed treatment technology. The facility aims to provide customers with integrated seed treatment solutions, Bayer says. Services include training on the correct application of seed treatment products to in-depth information about treatment processes. Bayer country head for Vietnam Torsten Velden notes the dominance of smallholders with little access to technology. “We will bring our customised offerings to help [farmers] grow healthier and stronger plants that produce higher yields and, at the same time, work with the Cuu Long Rice Research Institute to transfer modern technologies to market through training and demonstration trials,” Mr Velden says.
