Canada OKs continued use of isoxaben
The Canadian Pest Management Regulatory Agency (PMRA) proposes the continued registration of Dow AgroSciences' herbicide, Gallery 75 DF (isoxaben 75%), following a re-evaluation of the active ingredient. Risks to human health and the environment are acceptable when label instructions are followed, the PMRA concludes. The herbicide is used on conifers, nursery stock and ornamentals. It is registered for outdoor use only and not for use on cut flowers. The PMRA calls for some label changes to minimise risks, including buffer zones to protect non-target, sensitive aquatic and terrestrial habitats. The proposal is open to public comment until August 4th.
