France to ban aerial pesticide spraying
France has launched a public consultation on a draft decree that will end the aerial spraying of agrochemicals by the end of 2015. The consultation has been jointly launched by the Ministries of Agriculture, of Ecology and of Health. Any exemptions granted will no longer be valid after December 31st 2015 and no more derogations will be issued after that date. Maize and bananas will no longer be exempt from any prohibitions of aerial spraying. Only rice and grapevine crops will still be subject to derogations until the end of 2015. The draft decree is open to public comments until July 15th.
