Brazil Anvisa OKs MBI's giant knotweed extract
The Brazilian national health surveillance agency, the Anvisa, has approved US company Marrone Bio Innovations' (MBI) biofungicide and disease resistance activator, giant knotweed (Reynoutria sachalinensis) extract, as a fungicidal active ingredient. The ai is approved as a suspension concentrate formulation to be used as a foliar application on citrus fruits, feijao beans, potatoes and tomatoes. The approval includes a 30-day comment period running from June 12th. Full approval requires the assent of the environmental agency and the Ministry of Agriculture.
