Dow pins down quinoxyfen's mode of action:

Researchers at Dow AgroSciences UK have finally pinpointed the unique mode of action used by the mildew fungicide, quinoxyfen. The active ingredient was first launched in the UK in 1997, as Fortress (Agrow No 277, p 20), but its exact mode of action had not been characterised. Quinoxyfen disrupts signalling processes that are crucial for a number of growth and developmental changes in the early stages of powdery mildew development. The ability of quinoxyfen to block a number of pathways in the pathogen's life cycle makes it "extremely difficult" for resistant strains to develop, says research team leader Dr Chris Longhurst.
