Monsanto launches Brazilian refuge maize offer
Monsanto has launched its price reduction offer on its non-Bt maize for use in refuge planting in Brazil. The company has reduced its price by 30% (Agrow No 689, p 15). It covers conventional and genetically modified herbicide-tolerant maize destined for refuge areas of at least 10%, either of conventional or glyphosate-tolerant lines. The offer is valid with the purchase of GM VT Pro (MON89034), VT Pro 2 and VT Pro Max maize (both MON89034xNK603), and VT Pro 3 (MON89034xMON88017) lines. Last year’s refuge area covered 20% of the maize crop, Monsanto says. The company is targeting 70% coverage within two years.
