Syngenta debuts Ference for turf in US
Syngenta has introduced the insecticide, Ference (cyantraniliprole 200 g/litre), in the US for the control of annual bluegrass weevils (Listronotus maculicollis) and other pests on turf, including golf courses. The insecticide controls all larval stages of annual bluegrass weevils, making it well suited to asynchronous summer populations, the company points out. It recommends use of Ference in a programme with the insecticides, Scimitar GC (lambda-cyhalothrin), Acelepryn (chlorantraniliprole) and Provaunt (indoxacarb). DuPont has licensed cyantraniliprole to Syngenta, which acquired DuPont's turf, ornamentals and home insecticides business in 2012 (Agrow No 647, p 2). Syngenta recently introduced the cyantraniliprole-based fly bait product, Zyrox (Agrow No 693, p 27).
