Brazil OKs imports of cyantraniliprole
Brazil has approved the import and use of DuPont's cyantraniliprole (trade-marked as Cyazypyr)-based insecticides. The Ministry of Agriculture has granted authorisations of the insecticide as an emergency measure for the control of coffee berry borers (Hypothenemus hampei) on coffee in Minas Gerais, the principal state growing the bean. The state of emergency was declared in March and is to run for a year. The commercial registration of cyantraniliprole is expected to be granted by the end of this year (Agrow No 693, p 28).
