Agchem use down on higher sales in Brazil state
Pesticide use dropped by 22% in the Brazilian state of Parana in 2013, national media report. They cite findings from the state’s pesticide use and registration system, the Siagro. However, sales were up by almost 21% at some $1,350 million, placing Parana as the national pesticide market’s third-major state. Siagro findings reveal that some 118.4 million kg/litres of pesticides were applied last year against 152.3 million kg/litres in the previous year.
