Dow expands Australian research pact
Dow AgroSciences has expanded a five-year collaboration with the Australian state of Victoria's Department of Environment and Primary Industries (DEPI) on crop improvement. A new project has been added on canola improvement using Dow's Exzact technology platform. The partners previously developed a gene targeting platform for improving canola and wheat varieties (Agrow No 662, p 27). Dow has entered into a research licensing agreement with the DEPI's commercial arm, Agriculture Victoria Services, covering the Exzact technology. Dow has developed the technology under an exclusive licensing and collaboration agreement with US genomics firm Sangamo BioSciences.
