FMC settles with US EPA over illegal radio ads
The US EPA has reached an agreement with FMC to resolve allegations that it improperly advertised its insecticide, Capture LFR (bifenthrin), on US radio stations in violation of the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide and Rodenticide Act (FIFRA). A total of 144 advertisements were carried by five stations over a two-week period in December 2012. They were in violation of the FIFRA because they did not identify Capture LFR as a restricted use pesticide. FMC has agreed to pay a civil penalty of $117,216.
