DuPont Pioneer plans US soybean research facility
DuPont seed subsidiary DuPont Pioneer is to build a $35 million US soybean research facility at its Stine Haskell Research Centre in Newark, Delaware. The nearly 134,000 sq ft (12,450 m2) facility will include two state-of-the-art automated greenhouses, the company notes. It is due for completion in 2016, with room for expansion. The site will support the business' enlarged suite of genetically modified insect-resistant, herbicide-tolerant and output trait soybeans, DuPont Pioneer points out.
