CMM gains US patent for stress tolerance technology

The US company, Crop Microclimate Management (CMM - Apex, North Carolina), has received a notice of allowance from the US Patent and Trademark Office for a patent application (13/069542) covering methods for increasing tolerance to abiotic stress in plants. It covers compositions, methods and uses for selected dicarboxylic acids for improving crop productivity by increasing tolerance to environmental factors such as excess heat, cold, light, water stress or soil salinity. It is the first patent resulting from CMM's research and development programme and the first covering its proprietary G3 technology platform, the company points out.
