Non-EU suppliers now allowed in EU biocide list
The names of non-EU companies and their EU representatives will now be included in the forthcoming list of biocidal active ingredients and suppliers in the EU. The change is a turn-around from earlier this year, when the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) said that non-EU entities would not be eligible for inclusion in the list, and should consider nominating an importer (Agrow No 687, p 14). The ECHA has since agreed the amendment with the European Commission “to ensure equal treatment”. From September 1st 2015, a biocidal product, including non-crop pesticides, cannot be sold if the relevant ai or product supplier is not included in the list.
