Vestaron closes $10 million financing round
The US biopesticide company, Vestaron (Kalamazoo, Michigan), has closed a $10 million stock financing round. It was led by new investor Cultivian Sandbox and a number of existing investors. The investment comes as Vestaron moves from being a research and development company to a commercial business. Vestaron received US approval for its spider toxin-based bioinsecticide, Versitude (GS-omega/kappa-Hxtx-Hv1a), this year, with commercialisation scheduled for 2015 (Agrow No 682, p 26).
