BASF gains pesticide lab certification in Brazil
BASF has received certification in Brazil for its non-crop pesticide (Pest Control Solutions) and seed treatment (Seed Solutions) laboratory. The facility, based in Santo Antonio de Posse, Sao Paulo state, has gained ISO/IEC 17025 certification from the national regulator, Inmetro. This certification is considered one of the most rigorous and figures as a quality management and technical competence reference point for testing laboratories, BASF says. The ISO 17025 standard is applied for calibration and testing laboratories and is mandatory for non-crop pesticide studies. The recognition allows test results to be presented as official reports when seeking the registration of new active ingredients, and enables the exchange of research between countries in which BASF operates, especially in Asia, the company adds.
