Sindag/Embrapa study aerial application technology in Brazil
Industry and government researchers are carrying out the most wide-ranging study so far on pesticide application technology in Brazil. The aerial pesticide applicator association, the Sindag, and the agricultural research corporation, the Embrapa, are studying the development of the technology in the country, and this week will list the agricultural areas and aerial application companies in the next stage of the project. The research started in November last year with experimental application of a biopesticide for the control of spittlebugs (Mahanarva fimbriolata) on sugar cane in Minas Gerais state. Early results from the study have recently been presented at a Sindag congress. The survey is anticipated to last three years, and seeks to aid the development of more efficient technology for use on cane, soybean and rice fields.
