Wynca up 13% in first half
Chinese company Zhejiang Wynca Chemical recorded agrochemical sales of Yuan 2,334.1 ($378.6 million at the current rate) in the first six months of 2014, a 13.4% increase on the same period last year. Wynca was top of China’s listed agrochemical companies in the first six months. Agrochemicals accounted for 58% of the company’s total first-half sales of Yuan 4,024.5 million ($652.8 million), which included those of organosilicone products. Net profit for the period plummeted 61.5% to Yuan 90.3 million ($14.6 million), which Wynca attributes to the unstable first- half prices for its main product, the herbicide, glyphosate. Wynca’s 2013 agrochemical sales were up 25.5% to Yuan 3,554.2 million ($576.5 million - Agrow No 687, p 8).
