EU environment concerns unchanged

EU citizens are more concerned about pollution, household chemicals and the depletion of natural resources, than about the use of pesticides and fertilisers, reveals the latest European Commission Eurobarometer survey on environmental issues. When presented with a list of 14 environmental concerns, the main issues were air pollution (56% of respondents), water pollution (50%), the impact on health of chemicals in everyday products (43%), the growing amount of waste (43%) and the depletion of natural resources (36%), followed by agricultural pollution from pesticide and fertiliser use (29%).
