EU MRLs reviewed for nine more ais
The European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) has completed reviews of EU-wide maximum residue limits (MRLs) of: the fungicides, boscalid, flutriafol, folpet, prothioconazole and thiabendazole; the herbicides, desmedipham and pethoxamid; the insecticide, flonicamid; and the plant growth regulator, 1-methylcyclopropene. In the case of prothioconazole, it identified a possible acute risk to consumers and recommends that EU member states consider measures to reduce consumer exposure. For other active ingredients, no risks to consumers were found, but data gaps were identified for some of the MRLs. These need to be resolved to avoid the relevant approvals being amended or withdrawn, the Authority says.
