Adama opens ag sciences educational greenhouse
ChemChina subsidiary Adama Agricultural solutions has opened its first “advanced educational greenhouse” at an urban farm in Ashdod, Israel. The company aims to use the greenhouse to make agricultural sciences accessible to pupils. It houses “state-of-the-art” agricultural technological equipment, and offers a “unique interactive experience” in which students can engage in a range of scientific experiments, growing plants under multiple conditions, varying parameters such as temperature, light intensity and soil type. The move is part of the company’s “Spreading the Seeds of Science” project, spurring pupil interest in agricultural sciences. The company is to set up similar greenhouses at three urban farms, in Lod, Beersheba and Ashdod in conjunction with local authorities and the national Ministry of Education.
