Valent to drop Gangster herbicide
Sumitomo Chemical subsidiary Valent USA Corporation (Walnut Creek, California) is to discontinue its pre-emergence soybean herbicide, Gangster, in the US after the 2015 growing season. Gangster is a co-pack of flumioxazin and cloransulam-methyl. The move follows the recent US approval for the pre-emergence soybean herbicide, Fierce XLT (Kumiai Chemical's pyroxasulfone + flumioxazin + chlorimuron-ethyl - Agrow No 696, p 25), which will replace Gangster. Valent will continue to support Gangster in the field as the product transitions out of partner inventories, the company points out. It will support sales through the 2015 marketing year from October 1st 2014 to September 30th 2015.
