New guide on EU biocide rules
The European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) has published a “practical guide” on the EU biocidal products Regulation (528/2012), which covers non-crop pesticides. Topics include active ingredient and product authorisations, product changes, data sharing and appeals. Sections describe the obligations of companies, along with the relevant timelines and deadlines, information requirements, procedures to follow, and expected results. The guide also highlights the exceptions and particular cases for some of the processes. Relevant fees are listed. Additional chapters to be published in late October will cover renewals and reviews of ai approvals, and research and development. The guide is available on the ECHA’s website at: http://echa.europa.eu/practical-guides/bpr-practical-guides.
