China’s pesticide prices down 9% in August
China’s average pesticide price in August this year was 1.2% higher than the month before, but 9.2% down on August last year. The average price index for Chinese pesticide products was 98.6, from a base of 100 in February last year, reports the China Crop Protection Industry Association (CCPIA). The August price index for herbicide products was 100.8, down 8.9 percentage points year-on-year, but up 2.6 points on the previous month. Weighted average transaction prices for glyphosate were up 3.5 points month-on-month in August, and manufacturing output increased 8.3 points. Prices for the ai are not expected to rise much higher. The insecticide average price index was 91.2, down 7.7 points year-on-year and continuing a three-month slide, while the fungicide price index was 101.4, up 0.9 points on the previous year.
