Bayer to acquire Granar
Bayer CropScience has agreed to acquire Paraguayan seed business, Granar (Encarnacion). The company specialises in breeding, production and marketing soybean seeds adapted to subtropical conditions. Granar has a “strong presence” in Paraguay and Uruguay and a growing one in Brazil, Bayer says. It employs around 50 staff. Bayer believes the acquisition of Granar’s Igra Semillas brand to be “especially important”.
