Brazil prioritises ais for earworm control analysis
Brazil is to prioritise the analysis of insecticide products based on four active ingredients and three micro-organisms that are already approved for use on cotton, maize and soybeans for potential control of earworms (Helicoverpa armigera). The ais and micro-organisms are: acephate, methomyl, methoxyfenozide, thiodocarb, Bacillus thuringiensis, Metarhizium anisopliae and Beauveria bassiana. Those acephate, methomyl, and methoxyfenozide-based products that are not already approved for use on the same crops will also be prioritised for earworm control and for use on the crops. The Ministry of Agriculture issued executive order Ato 45 last month setting the order.
