Agro-Kanesho acquires BASF’s flucythrinate
Japanese agrochemical company Agro-Kanesho has acquired BASF’s insecticide, flucythrinate, including the product, Pay-Off ME (4.4% flucythrinate). Agro-Kanesho will gain access to registrations, registration data, trademarks, and patents of flucythrinate from BASF, enabling it to develop and market the flucythrinate-based products worldwide. The active ingredient is a synthetic pyrethroid. It was registered in Japan in 1986 and has been widely used on field crops such as sugar beets, soy beans and potatoes in Hokkaido, Japan. By integrating the product into its current product portfolio, the company expects its business in vegetables and field crops to be further strengthened.
