Bayer acquires Contans rights from Belchim
Bayer CropScience has acquired the sole European distribution rights for its Coniothyrium minitans-based biofungicide, Contans WG, from Belgian crop protection company Belchim (Londerzeel). Bayer acquired Contans last year when it bought German biopesticide company Prophyta, which owned Contans. The acquisition of rights from Belchim is another step in building up a comprehensive range of biologicals as part of integrated crop solutions, it says. The transfer of the business will take a phased approach, country by country, over the coming 12 months starting November 1st.
