More US non-payment approval cancellations
The US EPA is cancelling 199 pesticide registrations because of the non-payment of annual maintenance fees that were due under the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide and Rodenticide Act (FIFRA) on January 15th 2014. The routine cancellations affect 194 federal (FIFRA section 3) registrations and five special local need (FIFRA section 24c) approvals. Maintenance fees were paid for 15,999 section 3 registrations, representing about 97% of those on file in December 2013. Fees were paid for 1,746 section 24c approvals, or about 88% of those on file. Fees were waived on 266 minor agricultural use registrations at the request of registrants in fiscal 2014 (ended September 30th).
