Intervention denied in US state GMO labelling suit

A federal judge has denied a bid by two pro-GMO labelling groups to formally intervene in a food industry lawsuit challenging the US state of Vermont's law requiring labelling of foods derived from genetically modified crops. Judge Christina Reiss concluded that Vermont had the "capacity and motivation to vigorously defend" the law, known as Act 120, without intervention from the Center for Food Safety (CFS) and the Vermont Public Interest Research Group (VPIRG).
